Oh, it gets better.
Did we mention that we think the France has a better startup scene than California? Well, we do. And it does. And we’re here to tell the world about all the best new tech-startup-entrepreneur stuff that France has to offer. In English. So, apologies to the Académie française for raining on its parade.

Startup Contest : 16 teams ready to pitch !

More than 60 startups applied to the Startup Contest ! Thanks a lot to all of them !

Choosing 16 startups between all of them was not easy, but thanks to our committee, here is the list of the selected winners :

Babble planet :

Babble Planet is a social game for kids from 8 to 11 to learn spoken English and interact with kids from other countries.

Jolitv :

Jolitv is a social and personalized TV Guide for TV lovers who want to watch great TV Shows and movies but lose time and energy every day by reading ambiguous TV Guides. The service centralizes all the networks they can have access to in one place and pushes them the most relevant recommendations.

Dictanova :

The goal of Dictanova is to take over the huge amount of unstructured data available to extract the valuable strategic and marketing information it contains. This data silently sleeps within companies or on the Web because executives have no way of harnessing this information. They aim at developing easy to use SaaS software to help them unleashing the knowledge embedded in their unstructured data.

Kawet :

Kawet enables companies to significantly reduce the cost, complexity and time to create, manage and deliver business apps across multiple devices. Kawet is the missing piece of puzzle that transforms the clouded data into native mobile apps and delivers it on any internal app stores.

Beapp :

“La BeApp Factory” allows anyone without any technical specific knowledges creating mobile apps. BeApp is specially dedicated to tourism, commercial and edition domains.

Infinit :

Infinit provides end-users a way to store, share and access all their files from any of their computing devices: PC, laptop, smartphone, tablet, Internet-connected TV etc. The technology differs from the Cloud-based services in the way that Infinit does not require servers for storing the users’ data. Instead, Infinit aggregates the storage capacity from the user’s devices in order to create a virtual storage drive.

Hubbub :

The first real sound social network ! Talking and listening is the most natural way of human communication. However, the rise of online social networks that marked the first decade of 21st century has largely ignored sound as an information exchange medium. To close this last huge gap, a new breed of social networks must emerge: with instruments and logic tailored to the specificity of audio content.

Brin.gr :

Intelligent social network monitoring and analysis tool.

Match my size :

MatchMySize is a specialized tool for recommending size clothes. With MatchMySize, the returning rate may decline for e-traders, and they will improve their conversion ratio, in helping the internet user choosing the right size when he orders.

Spreadbutton :

SpreadButton is a toolkit that connects marketing ecommerce websites with social networks in order to use customer data much more efficiently. The goal is to obtain a full and effective CRM that includes both social data (interests, preferences, interactions with the store, birthday …) and commercial data of the client (cart, purchase date …).

Atendy :

Atendy’s passion lies in providing brands and organizations with better tools to help them more successfully plan, promote, manage, and drive engagement with and between their attendees.

Humanogames :

HappyLife is HumanoGames’ 1st social game on Facebook. It is designed to promote and raise awareness of entrepreneurship and (micro-)credit.

HappyLife’s concept is innovative:

-  Introducing the general public to (micro-)credit through a fun and entertaining medium.

-  Raising awareness about financial literacy and financial development tools.

-  Impacting some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

Newage :

Newage is a location-based mobile gaming app for smartphones that lets players join forces with one of three existing factions and battle for their Cities districts and venues in the real World. Taking the foursquare mechanics one step further in bridging real-life and gaming, Newage aims at turning the world into a global battlefield where players compete for the supremacy of their faction and climb their way up the hierarchy to influence the decisions with other real-life players. The persistant basis of the battlefields will encourage players to participate often and the real-world set up will make them more engaged towards the venues they’re fighting for.

Smart Pixel :

The Jukeboard is the modern juke-box.  It is intended to bars, pubs and other public and private institutions. It differs from previous models with a whole new interface based on a large touchscreen and a music database online which allows the users to access to millions of songs without limits. Note this database is provided by Spotify, a streaming music major in the world.

Sharypic :

Sharypic, a collaborative photo sharing platform, makes sharing photos of an event as easy as taking them. We help event organizers and participants to gather, share and enjoy photos in real-time at the event venue and then later online in the same place. Sharypic liberates photos from smartphones and cameras allowing attendees to share these moments together.

LGM learning :

MyBlee is a play-and-learn learning application for the 7-12 years old pupils, on Ipad. MyBlee is based on a system recognizing children handwriting. A vocal synthesizer shows the child the way to improve.
