This year, the web2day will take place in a very special place : Stereolux, on the isle of Nantes. It’s time to let you know more about the projet and this fabulous site !
STEREOLUX, WHO IS IT ?
The Stereolux project is conducted by Songo association’s team who has been managing the Olympic along with its artistic and cultural project since 1995. To do so they concoct amazing concerts, imagine new creations (exploring contemporary music and digital art), create workshops for schools (educational concerts, creation of visual or audio pieces…), arrange conferences about amplified music as well as video projections, and on top of that organize Scopitone festival which is dedicated to electronic cultures and digital arts.
Stereolux is the Olympic team – board members and employees – who, for this unique year, work hard to imagine, create and tie up the loose ends for the Olympic’s last events and the new program of activies that will take place at the Fabrique.
Stereolux is the “Olympic flame”, so dear to Nantes inhabitants, that will keep on shining with bold, original yet accessible artistic propositions, together with the lasting values and dedication of the association. All this, we truly hope will convince you to come here to warm up and set the dancefloor on fire.
STEREOLUX, WHAT IS IT ?
Digital dreamolution and electronic culture.
Beyond the simple technical fact, digital technology has opened new perspectives for the various forms of artistic expression, in the accessibility to works of art and artistic practices and in the exchange of information and communication. One of the most visible aspects is the convergence of the mediums (music, image, movement, …) and sometimes their merging into new artistic forms.
For more than ten years, the Olympic has become involved in the promotion of this convergence: with the organization of Scopitone festival, but also by lending its support to the creation of concerts and digital works of art, amplified music themed educational workshops and creative activities using digital devices, as well as meetings to popularize and give information about the cultural, economic and social stakes of these new electronic cultures.
